Our teams have been taking routine water quality samples as part of the summer recreational water quality monitoring programme.
The Taranaki diving platform and Waterfront at Shed 6 have returned high results for the bacteria Enterococci which is an indicator of faecal contamination in the water.
We advise no swimming in these areas over the weekend. Warning signs have been placed out.
We will continue to sample daily until levels return to normal. A further update will be given on Monday 15 January.
