The monitoring buoy on Lake Tutira is currently non-operational, and unable to provide semi-real-time data. This data is used for assessing whether algae blooms pose a risk to recreational users. Due to the holiday period, HBRC expect the buoy won't be operating until the week of the 8th of January and a swimming caution is advised until that time.
