Waimakariri River at Reids Reserve
The Waimakariri River is a large alpine fed river, north of Christchurch.
This site is no longer monitored for recreational water quality.
This site can vary from a quiet pool to a fast flowing part of the main river. It adjoins the large grassed flats of Reids reserve -a recently developed multi use reserve with the Waimakariri Regional Park. A number of walking and mountain bike tracks are available for use in the park. The river is popular with jet boaters and kayakers.
