Discharge of contaminants into a waterbody from a single fixed point, such as a pipe or drain from sewerage, factory and dairy shed outfalls. Pollutants that come from point-sources are the easiest to manage, although treatment can be costly. The type and amount of each pollutant is easy to measure, and its origin (and who is responsible) is relatively easy to identify.
