Caution is advised in the area where the Mangaone Stream discharges freshwater across the beach due to ongoing contamination issues. A health warning sign has been erected in the vicinity of the stream mouth.
The coastal area on either side of the freshwater discharge is generally suitable for recreational activities.
We do remind people not to swim for 48hrs after heavy rainfall.
