Huriwai River
The Huriwai River source is south of Port Waikato near Mt Putataka. The stream flows out to the Tasman Sea south of Port Waikato. There is a waterfall downstream of this site which limits fish access from the sea.
The dominant underlying geology is hard sedimentary rock. The sampling site is located on Waikaretu Road south of Port Waikato.
