Lake Ngāroto/Wairoto at Jetty by boat ramp

Lake Ngāroto/Wairoto is the largest of the Waipā peat lakes. The surrounding catchment is mainly pastoral but restoration efforts have involved fencing and planting the lake edge with native plants. The lake is part of a recreation reserve that is managed by Waipā District Council, to protect and maintain its important recreational, cultural and natural values.
