Todds Valley

Todd Valley stream meanders through the Wakapuaka flats, terminating in the Haven estuary. The stream has a soft fine sediment bed, generally with incised banks covered in rank grass. Landuse in the catchment consists of native and pine forest blocks, lifestyle properties, and wetlands in the lower catchment.

Many lifestyle block owners in the catchment are working hard to reduce pest plants and animals and improve riparian margins. Nelson City Council and DoC are working to restore the wetland area downstream of SH6.
