Privately owned vineyard irrigation well used by MDC for State of the Environment (SoE) surveys. Also used to measure abstraction induced changes in mineralised natural groundwater from this low storage, deep Southern Valleys Aquifer system, denitrification processes and the long-term accumulation of timber preservatives. Representative of groundwater quality resident in deeper layers of confined Brancott Aquifer. Deep well by Marlborough standards containing mainly old groundwater.
