Whakapapa at Ōwhango

Forget the chilly ski season, this area is a wonderful for swimming, walking and fishing in the summertime. Located at the Ōwhango end of the 42 Traverse and the Ohinetonga Loop walking track lies the perfect spot to cool off at the swimming hole.  Alternatively pick up a fishing licence at the information centre in town and catch a trout from the world renowned Whakapapa River (season runs from 1 October to 30 June).
