The Kaiapoi River is monitored for recreational water quality where it flows through Kaiapoi township. This site is accessed from Raven Quay behind the Muesuem. The river consists of a deep, swift channel with grassy stopbanks on either side. The banks provide picnicing and walking oppurtunities. The site is popular with boaties and rowers and can become very busy.
Either side of the river are grassy areas suitable for picnicing or walking on. The stop banks provide access to longer walks.
This is a popular site for rowing.
