Ohau Stream upstream SH1

Ohau Stream is a small, steep stream draining the mountain range along the Kaikoura Coast. 

This site was inaccessible after the Kaikoura earthquake and therefore was not sampled from 2016-2020.

Available data can be accessed for each parameter by clicking on the icon for the parameter. 

The site was accessed via the track that once lead to the seal pup nursery, north of Kaikoura.  It is a mix of pool, run and riffle-chute type habitat and the streambed is dominated by boulder and cobble substrate.  The riparian vegetation is primarily native species.
