Lake Tarawera is set in the midst of breathtaking scenery in the Rotorua region. In 1886 the Tarawera eruption formed this area and today the area is lush, green and blissfully peaceful. Lake Tarawera is an excellent spot for fishing, boating, walking and more. Travel on Spencer Road 4.4 km from the Buried Village to a reserve area at Rangiuru Bay.
