Lake Rerewhakaaitu at Homestead Arm

There is good fishing, swimming and walking around this site. Take binoculars for watching water birds as Lake Rerewhakaaitu supports breeding populations of dabchicks, scaup and the largest breeding population of banded dotterel. There is a DOC camping area - open fires are prohibited but please use barbecue facilities where provided. Bring your own drinking water. Dogs must be under control at all times.
