Sunkist Bay is a good spot to go for a swim at low tide, or walk along the concrete pathway.
The beach is submerged at high tide. If you enter the water, take care as there may be currents in the nearshore zone, and keep within arm’s reach of young children.
If you’re launching your boat or going for a paddle, wear a lifejacket, check the conditions, and take the right gear (www.adventuresmart.org.nz). If you walk to the island, make sure you go at low tide, and don't leave your return too late.
